1,270 Omicron cases in India, Maharashtra adds 450, Delhi 320 cases

On Friday, India reported 16,764 new Coronavirus infections, indicating a significant increase in the number of cases. In the last 24 hours, the country has seen 7,585 recoveries and 220 deaths. The total number of Omicron cases in India has now exceeded 1000, bringing the total number of cases of the highly transmissible variety to 1,270.

The country's active caseload is now at 91,361. India's recovery rate is currently at 98.36%.

According to the Union health ministry, there were 1,270 Covid-19 instances in the country, all of which were of the Omicron variety. Maharashtra and Delhi contributed the most instances to the national total, with 450 and 320 cases, respectively.
