Another Nirbhaya case surfaced on Tuesday, when a 17-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped on a moving bus in Bihar, according to authorities.
They said four persons had been arrested in connection with the incident on Tuesday.
“The girl was waiting for a bus to Bettiah in West Champaran at the Motihari bus station in East Champaran district.” “She climbed on the bus since the driver said it was heading to Bettiah,” Mukul Pandey, sub-divisional police officer (Bettiah-Sadar), said.
“On the bus, she was offered a drugged drink, after which she fell unconscious.” “After that, she told police she was gang-raped,” he stated.
When the girl regained consciousness, she said she found herself on the bus with the doors locked.
“The defendant had confined her inside the bus and then fled.” “Passers-by opened the door and called the cops,” stated another officer.
According to authorities, four persons were arrested in connection with the event, including the bus driver, conductor, and assistance.
They said the girl’s medical examination took place at the Bettiah government hospital.
“Forensic experts have now been summoned to examine the evidence acquired. The bus has already been seized, according to Pandey.
According to him, a case was filed under relevant provisions of the IPC as well as the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act.
