21 researchers from IIT Guwahati were chosen for the top 2% scientists in the world list
The Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati is home to a total of 21 researchers and academic staff members, including Professor TG Sitharam, the Institute's director, who have been recognised on Stanford University's list of the Top 2% of Scientists in the World.
Professor T. G. Sitharam, the director, and 20 other faculty members have been ranked for their lifetime contributions to their particular fields of research and their research publications citations utilising all Scopus author profiles as of September 1, 2022.Professor T. The Director of IIT Guwahati, Professor TG. Sitharam, congratulated the Institute's faculty members for their research contribution and remarked,

22 scientific fields and 176 subfields make up the classification of scientists. Based on c-score (with and without self-citations) or a percentile rank of 2% or higher in the sub-field, the top 100,000 scientists are chosen. The career-long database contains up to 195,605 scientists, and the single recent year dataset has up to 200,409. This version (4) is based on a Scopus snapshot taken on September 1, 2022, which has been updated for the conclusion of the citation year 2021.The Stanford University list includes faculty members from several departments of IIT Guwahati, including the Departments of Chemistry, Electrical & Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Chemical Engineering, and Biosciences and Bioengineering.
