40 lakh people will receive ration cards in Assam on April
40 lakh people in Assam will receive ration cards in April, cabinet minister Ranjeet Das announced on Saturday.

“The state government will arrange a public gathering to distribute the ration cards to the poor people.” said by Ranjeet Das.
The minister added that ration card applications had already begun to come in. After the state government's plea, he said that many people with government jobs or from wealthy backgrounds have come forward to relinquish their ration cards.
With the aid of ration cards, customers would be able to get cashless medical benefits up to Rs 5 lakh per family at government or private hospitals across the nation, according to an announcement made by the Assam government in December of last year.
