6 Died, Over 15 Injured in Kamala Building Fire Incident; Maharashtra

A massive fire that erupted inside a 20-storey residential structure in Mumbai this morning claimed the lives of at least six individuals.

The enormous fire started about 7 a.m. on the 18th floor of the Kamla building opposite Gandhi Hospital near Gowalia Tank in Mumbai’s Tardeo district, injuring another 15 persons.

An enormous column of smoke filled the sky, with flames erupting from the building, according to footage from the site.

The fire department and police had hurried to the scene after being notified. According to a city official, the firefighting operation included 13 fire engines and seven water jetties, among other things, and it was classified as a level-3 (large) fire.

According to officials, the injured were rushed to three local hospitals, where four people died as a result of their injuries: Nair Hospital, Kasturba Hospital, and Bhatia Hospital.

BJP leader Priti Gandhi shared a video of the devastating incident where she expressed her pain on such casualties.
