Om Raut, the director of 'Adipurush,' defends Saif's appearance as Raavan in his film
The controversy surrounding the upcoming Hindu mythical film 'Adipurush,' which stars Prabhas, Kriti Sanon, and Saif Ali Khan in prominent parts, appears to be growing by the day. The film was previously chastised for its terrible VFX, which was obvious in the teaser. The Madhya Pradesh Home Minister, Narottam Mishra, then protested to Lord Hanuman being represented in a "leather attire."
Recently, some people on the Internet have been criticising the film because of Saif Ali Khan's appearance as Raavan in the film. Om Raut, the film's director, has now come out to defend the representation and his creative choice. In response to the film's widespread criticism for Saif's portrayal of Raavan, the director informed the press: "In today's world, Ravan is demonic and terrible. The person who kidnapped our Goddess Sita is terrible. We've illustrated how Raavan seems in modern times. For us, this is not a film or a project."
referring to the film "Raut described the picture as "a mission" for the entire production crew, adding, "Our film is a sign of our devotion, and we need everyone's blessings for this." Our seniors are those who are discussing the film. I'm listening to everyone and taking notes on everything. I will not let you down when you see the film in January 2023." The film, which stars Prabhas as Lord Ram and Kriti as Sita, will be released in theatres on January 12, 2023.
