Farmers are to gather at “Jantar Mantar” Delhi on 22 August 2022. They will protest against Inflation, the Electricity Amendment Bill 2022 and their old demand for Minimum Support Price or MSP. Regarding this, Delhi Police has put cemented barricades at Tikri Border.
Delhi police put up cemented barricades, and tightens security at the Delhi-Haryana’s Tikri border, ahead of a call by farmers to protest at Jantar Mantar tomorrow, as the farmers start arriving into the state, according to ANI reports.
Rakesh Tikait, the spokesperson of Bhartiya Kisan Union (BKU) was taken into preventive custody at Madhu Vihar Police Station ahead of the protest. Rakesh tweeted and said, “The Delhi Police cannot suppress the voice of the farmers.”
“The Delhi Police working on the behest of the government cannot suppress the voice of the farmers. This arrest will bring a new revolution. This struggle will continue till the last breath”. With the hashtag, “will not stop” “will not get tired” “will not bow down”.
