An inspiring story of a youngster from Meghalaya winning Graduate of the Year 2022 at SIBM Pune

Meet Ratan Prasad, a graduate of the Symbiosis Institute of Business Management in Pune, who was named Graduate of the Year 2022 and rated 5th in a field of many. His success was built on his hard work and dedication to case contests, which resulted in many sleepless hours in his pursuit of excellence. Ratan is presently working as a recruiter in Google. This young man has made the state of Meghalaya, as well as the entire country, proud.
Coming from a small state might make it harder for young people to compete with those from larger states who have access to greater resources, as well as exposure to new technologies and developments in society. When you come from a tiny state, it can feel like a hardship because individuals from these areas are often discriminated against in many areas.
Poor supervision and a lack of proper education and training in the most important life skills are all problems. The biggest challenge that youngsters from tiny sections of the country confront is that they are unable to get appropriate jobs after graduating from educational institutes owing to a lack of appropriate skills.
But this Meghalaya boy has proven that if you have the drive, you can achieve your goals, and no one can stop you. Coming from a small town or remote area is a fallacy that will keep you from accomplishing your desired goals.
Coming from a remote part and the smallest district of Meghalaya called Mahendraganj in the Garo hills, where access to adequate educational infrastructure and meeting basic educational requirements is difficult perhaps impossible at times.
Ratan Prasad, a youngster from Meghalaya's remote area Mahendraganj, has proven everyone wrong and taught us that if you have the passion, dedication, and hard work, you can achieve your dreams no matter what
Ratan completed his matriculation or 10th board examination at a typical government school in Mahendraganj, and then went on to study at Jawahar Navoday Vidyalaya in Mahendraganj for his class 12th board. He chose to continue his studies in Himachal Pradesh after receiving an amazing grade of 85 percent in his 12th exam.
Ratan grew up in a joint household in Meghalaya's South West Garo Hills, where he completed his 10th and 12th grade education. He then went on to complete his BTech in Computer Science at IIIT Himachal, after which he went on to Symbiosis Institute of Business Management (SIBM) in Pune for his internship, where he was selected after passing the Symbiosis National Aptitude Test (SNAP). He is currently employed as a Google recruiter; for many hopefuls, working for Google is a dream come true.
Ratan claimed that coming from a remote area and reaching this position was difficult for him in terms of sufficient exposure, and that he had to look out to cities even for minor things.
Ratan received the Graduate of the Year Honor as a result of different corporate competitions that he won over the course of a year, and this award was awarded to him as a result of that. He also cleared the SNAP exam with a score of 98.98 percent, adding to his significant milestone.
Providing guidance to students, particularly those from tiny states or isolated locations. "There is no shortcut to success; you must put in the effort," Ratan stated.
Ratan defined himself as someone who has always push the limits of what he can do in all he does.
Ratan further remarked that there is no such thing as failure if you put in your best effort and give it your all. It doesn't matter if you fail at times; simply stand up and walk again; this will lead you to your goal.
When asked about the difficulties he had while pursuing his schooling and plus two levels because access to strong educational resources was tough in the remote town where he grew up, Ratan said he undertook self-study and spent extra time studying to keep up with the pace that was lacking.
Ratan's narrative was, without a doubt, inspirational to everyone, particularly young people from rural areas who aspire to achieve big goals in their lives. Nothing can stop you from accomplishing your intended goals if you have the zeal, passion, hard work, and perseverance, as young Ratan demonstrated.
