On Sunday, a group of Assamese artists who had travelled to Nongstoin to film the music video for an Assamese song were robbed by unidentified youths on the Tura-Shillong route.
They allegedly were looted in Meghalaya close to Nongstoin.

On the Tura-Shillong route, Nongstoin, the administrative centre for the West Khasi Hills district, is situated about 95 kilometres from Shillong.
With various picturesque locations nearby, including Nongkhnum Island, Wah Rilang, Kyllang Rock, Mawthadraishan Peak, Symper Rock, Pamphyrnai Lake, and War Lake, it is a well-liked location for film shoots.

A police inquiry into the event has begun.

Additionally, the artists urged the government of Meghalaya to look into these issues to protect the state's tourism industry. According to reports, Meghalaya police are looking into the incident.
