Himanta Biswa Sarma inaugurates the public use of the Nilachal Flyover in Assam.
On Wednesday afternoon, Himanta Biswa Sharma, the chief minister of Assam, formally inaugurated the eagerly anticipated Nilachal Flyover in the city's Maligaon area. This 2.63 km project, known as the Nilachal Flyover, is the longest flyover in the city to date. It connects Maligaon to Kamakhya Gate and was built by Anupam Nirman Pvt. Ltd. and Shree Gautam Construction Co. Ltd. for a total cost of more than Rs 420 crore. It also features a wing that faces the city's Pandu neighborhood.
It is expected that the project, which completed in less than three years, will lessen traffic congestion between the areas of Bhutnath and Adabari.
Alongside the chief minister, several dignitaries were present at the opening ceremony. Along with the other dignitaries, Guwahati Municipal Corporation mayor Mrigen Sarania, West Guwahati Legislative Assembly member Ramendra Narayan Kalita, and Member of Parliament for Guwahati, Queen Ojha, attended this ceremony. Additionally present were senior police and government authorities.
"This flyover has been a long-awaited project for the citizens, and I am very happy to dedicate the same to the public today," the CM stated in a speech for the event. The individuals who are traveling through the Maligaon region would benefit from this project and the traffic congestion will be relieved. I want to express my gratitude to everyone who helped with the project and contributed to its success. Additionally, this will make it simpler for people to get to Kamakhya Railway Station and Kamakhya Temple.
