Since 2014, Upen Roy, a native of Guwahati, has been saving in piggy banks for nearly eight years. He began saving coins in the amounts of one rupee, two rupees, five rupees, and ten rupees in order to realise his dream of one day owning a two-wheeler.
He finally tallied the coins on Tuesday and discovered that he had saved a total of Rs 1.5 lakh. Roy and his wife went to a neighbouring two-wheeler dealer with sacks full of pennies to purchase their dream bike. “I’d always wanted to get a two-wheeler, so I started accumulating money in 2014.” I tallied them today and discovered that I had saved enough money to purchase a two-wheeler, so I went out to purchase one. “I’m overjoyed that my dream of owning a two-wheeler has finally come true,” Upen Roy said.
