Assam: Doctor Operates Woman to Deliver Baby; Sews Her Back As Fetus was 'Immature'

A horrible incident that purportedly took place in a government hospital in the Karimganj district has tarnished the reputation of the entire medical community. Navy Namasudha, who was expecting, was admitted to the Karimganj Civil Hospital a few days ago in preparation for giving birth. The pregnant woman underwent a Caesarean section, which was done by Dr. A K Biswas of the same hospital. He was appalled to learn that the foetus was not fully grown, yet strangely enough, he was forced to stitch the woman back together after learning this.

Namasudha was confined in the government hospital for 11 days after this terrifying incident until she recovered. She wasn't completely recovered when she was ultimately released on Wednesday. An angry mob showed up at the hospital to protest this incident and levelled accusations of "negligence" throughout the neighbourhood.

The pregnant woman and the doctor have struck a settlement, the Karimganj police have revealed to the media. It has been learned that no case has been reported.
