Assam Governor declared holiday tomorrow in Kamrup (Metro) District

To honour the occasion of Dol Jatra, Governor of Assam and Nagaland, Prof Jagdish Mukhi has proclaimed a local holiday in the Kamrup (Metro) district on Saturday.
All state government offices and educational institutions in the Kamrup (Metro) district will be closed on Saturday, according to the announcement.

Under section 25 of the Nl Act 1881, all financial institutions in the district will also be closed (xxtv of1881)

Dol Jatra—the festival of colors—is primarily celebrated with pomp and passion in the states of West Bengal, Odisha, and Assam, and is known as Holi in the rest of India. Dol Jatra, also known as Dol Purnima, is a full moon festival dedicated to Lord Krishna. According to the Bengali calendar, this day also marks the end of the year’s festivals.
