Assam set to break the Guinness World Record for most Bihu dancers on April 14th

During the Rongali Bihu on April 14, Assam hopes to break the Guinness World Record for the largest gathering of Bihu dancers (spring festival). In Guwahati, the ceremony will be attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
All of the state's governors and chief ministers will receive invites to the event from the Assam government. The invitation will also include ambassadors from South East Asian and G-20 nations.

According to chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, the Assam government will hold a Bihu dance performance with 11,000 participants next month in an effort to set a record for the biggest folk dance performance ever held in a single location.
"Our goal is to stage the biggest Bihu dance performance at a single location and break the folk-dancing category record for the Guinness Book of World Records. An almost 9,000-person folk dance performance in Kullu, Himachal Pradesh, now holds the record for this, according to Sarma.

Participants in the event will come from every district in the state. The master trainers will instruct the participants, who must be between the ages of 15 and 35, at small workshops spread out over the state after they have been chosen by district officials. On April 8, they would arrive in Guwahati for the final performance and dress rehearsal, according to Sarma.

To participate in the event, each participant must make arrangements for the traditional outfit and receive payment of 10,500.
