Assam: Nagaon Minor raped multiple times by her father; arrested

An ugly incidence was reported from Assam's Nagaon district, where an 11-year-old girl was allegedly repeatedly raped by her father. The suspected father was detained on Tuesday based on a complaint made by the mother of the young girl, and on Wednesday he appeared in court where the judge ordered that he be placed in judicial custody.

Police sources claim that the accused father reportedly sexually assaulted his little daughter last on September 20 at their house in Longjap, a neighborhood near the Kachua police station in Nagaon.

After learning of the occurrence, the girl's mother tried to contact the neighborhood but received no help, so she subsequently filed a police report on September 27. "The accused father departed the house after committing the crime," stated a senior police official.

The police officer reported that after receiving the complaint, the neighborhood police sprang into action right away and detained the individual that very day. The minor's mother reported to the police that her husband had previously raped his daughter and was even detained for the offense but was spared since he was later freed on bail.
