Assam: One More Accused Arrested In "Link" To Bangladeshi Terror Group

Assam: One more accused arrested in alleged ‘links’ to Bangladeshi terror group after the five people were arrested when the first module was arrested, following which 11 were nabbed in March and April, and nine on the intervening night of July 26 and 27.

“During interrogation, ample evidence was found indicating Bakkar’s direct links with Ansarul Islam which was earlier called Ansarul Bangla Team. He carried out jihadi activities under the guise of a common farmer,” a police officer said.

Abu Bakkar, had surrendered on August 3 before Assam police and made arrested on Friday night after interrogation. He was produced before a court on Saturday and remanded to five days of police custody.
