According to reports, the freshly deployed personnel will work at KIA's recently opened terminal 2. According to the article, additional security officers have to be deployed due to the airport's expected increase in passenger traffic as well as the addition of extra check-in counters and facilities. The management of Bengaluru airport stated that the most recent terminal 2, located at Kempegowda International Airport, officially opened for business on January 15. In order to facilitate easier vehicle arrivals and departures for pick-up and drop-off of passengers at the airport, a five-lane road is also being prepared. The most recent terminal is anticipated to start conducting international operations in April.According to reports, the first phase of terminal 2 will cost an estimated Rs. 13,000 crores to build and have a built-up area of about 2.5 lakh square metres. The terminal would expand by 4.41 lakh square metres in the second phase. 25 million passengers a year are anticipated to use the new terminal's initial phase. At Kempegowda International Airport, the newest terminal 2 was opened on November 11 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
