CBI to probe Mukroh violence case, UDP welcomes decision

The Mukroh fire incident occurred in November of last year, and the Meghalaya and Assam governments decided to end the judicial inquiry commissions into it and turn the issue over to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).


At a meeting with the Chief Minister on Saturday in Guwahati, it was decided to allow the CBI to file a case to uphold its impartiality.
Himanta Biswa Sarma, the chief minister of Assam, announced the decision to dissolve the commissions and said that Meghalayan officials had not cooperated with the Assam judicial panel and had not shown up for the commission's hearing.
