Child panel chief on Assam government's accusations from AIUDF
The Prohibition of Child Marriage Act (PCMA) is being violated, according to the AIUDF, which asserted on Saturday that the Assam government is cracking down on child marriage without establishing the necessary standards.
According to news agency ANI, the head of the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR), Priyank Kanoongo, praised the Assam government's campaign against child marriage and urged other state governments to do the same. The NCPCR chief called the All India United Democratic Front (AIUDFallegations )'s that the Assam government is conducting the drive without establishing guidelines "foolish" in response.
"NCPCR has appreciated Assam's government initiative against adults involved in child marriages and we also expect other states to take similar steps.
