Filmfare removes Kangana Ranaut’s nomination for Best Actress
Kangana Ranaut, Bollywood actress, claimed that the Filmfare Awards nominated her and promised her an award in the specific category over “several phone calls.” As a result, the organisation has withdrawn Kangana Ranaut’s Best Actress nomination.
In this regard, Filmfare took to Twitter and posted an extended statement, in which they denied all the accusations made against them and stated that they had only gotten in touch with the actress to let her know she had been nominated for the Best Actor in a Leading Role, Female category and to get her address so they could send her the invitation to the awards ceremony.
“We are removing Ms. Ranaut’s Best Actress nomination for the film Thalaivii due to her irresponsible comments on the Filmfare Awards. We reserve the right to take whatever legal action necessary to stop her from making slanderous claims that harm our name and goodwill “Read the statement from Filmfare.
Kangana has now once again attacked Filmfare and threatened to sue them. “Thank you to everyone who supported me in this fight against a corrupt system, @filmfare has finally withdrawn my best actress nominations, but that doesn’t stop me from suing them… I intend to stop this unethical practice and stop the malicious award shows… I’ll see you in court @filmfare,” she responded to the statement from the Filmfare organization.
