First Vande Bharat Express From Guwahati Virtually Flagged Off by PM Modi

Prime Minister Modi effectively gave the go-ahead for the first Vande Bharat express for the NE. Guwahati and New Jalpaiguri will both be served by the semi-high-speed train. The Vande Bharat Express is a first-class semi-high-speed train service that is aesthetically beautiful and equipped with a number of facilities, including full air conditioning. Between Guwahati, Assam, and New Jalpaiguri, West Bengal, the railway will traverse 411 kilometers in about 5 hours and 30 minutes. Notably, this greatly reduces the current shortest travel time offered by any train on this route.

The Vande Bharat Express, which will service the transit needs of IT workers, businesspeople, students, and tourists alike, is said to run six days a week, excluding Tuesdays.

With its eight coach chair car layouts, each of which can accommodate 530 passengers, the Vande Bharat Express makes the most of the available space on board. It has executive and normal chair cars in addition to pulling trailer coaches. In order to provide the highest level of dependability, the train is equipped with state-of-the-art safety technologies, including the Centralised Coach Monitoring and Control System, driver-guard communication with audio recording, and the locally developed Train Collision Avoidance System known as "KAVACH," according to sources.

This train would travel through the Alipurduar, New Coochbehar, and Jalpaiguri districts of North Bengal as well as the Kamrup Metropolitan, Kamrup Rural, Nalbari, Barpeta, Chirang, and Kokrajhar districts in Assam.
