The public in Hyderabad appears to be responding favourably to the Telangana government's Free Drinking Water initiative, which was introduced by K. Chandrashekhar Rao. Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation launched the Free Drinking Water programme in January 2021. Under the programme, 20,000 kiloliters of free drinking water are provided each month to two lakh slum houses and 2.5 lakh water-metered households. The plan was one of KCR's election campaign pledges. It is the "best programme" of KCR, according to one of the recipients by the name of Mohammad Aleem Khan.

This is the best scheme of CM KCR. We get 20,000 KL of water free every month and we don't get any bill for that. We thank CM KCR for this," the beneficiary said. Akbar Azharuddin, a different beneficiary, likewise appreciated the programme and called for more similar initiatives. "This is a fantastic plan that will be really helpful to us. We no longer receive any bills. We want CM KCR to introduce more of these electricity-related programmes, particularly as they will help middle-class families. We appreciate CM KCR for giving this plan, "a different beneficiary stated. The Telangana government previously implemented the "Aasara" pensions as part of its welfare initiatives and social safety net plan with the aim of guaranteeing a secure living for all the underprivileged. It is a programme for the wellbeing of the elderly, widows, physically handicapped, and beedi workers. Asif Nagar Mandal authority has approved 10,000 additional Aasara pensions, according to Asif Nagar Tahsildar D Sunil Kumar. K Chandrasekhar Rao, the chief minister of Telangana, made the decision earlier on Wednesday to offer the employees of the state-run Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) a 30% share of the company's income for the fiscal year 2021–2022 as a Dussehra gift. The business would pay the qualified employees Rs 368 crore as part of this procedure.
