Fully Vaccinated will require RT-PCR test negative report to enter Meghalaya; CM

In light of the recent spike in Omnicron instances across the country, Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma announced today that the Meghalaya government has decided to re-impose certain of the Covid pandemic-related restrictions from January 5.

Apart from the double vaccines, he stated that persons entering the state from outside would need to demonstrate a COVID-19 negative RT-PCR test completed within 72 hours, and if they did not, they would be examined at the Meghalaya entrance point.

The government has decided to place limits on the gathering, Chief Minister stated following a review meeting of the COVID-19 situation in the State here today.

He went on to say that private car mobility in Shillong will be restricted, and that the odd-even number system would be implemented for private automobiles in Shillong.

The night curfew will be re-imposed in Shillong city and all other districts beginning at 10 p.m., according to the Chief Minister. In this regard, he stated that the appropriate Deputy Commissioners would issue the requisite order. (EOM)
