Haflong hosts the opening of the Assam Power Minister's Environment and Sustainable Development Seminar
In her remarks, Minister Gorlosa inspired the student leaders to speak up and share their opinions on the summit's topics. She mentioned the natural disasters that struck Dima Hasao last year and added that the summit would be the ideal venue for young people to speak up on these problems.

The two-day Environment and Sustainable Development Seminar was launched on Sunday at Haflong Govt College by Assam Power Minister Nandita Gorlosa in association with the District administration and N C Hills Autonomous Council. Bijit Langthasa, Executive Member of NCHAC, Nazreen Ahmed, Deputy Commissioner, T T Daolagupu, Principal Secretary of NCHAC, M. Daolagupu, Principal, Haflong Govt College, Professor, and students were present for the inauguration event.The first-ever Y20 (Youth 20) Summit, which will take place in India alongside the G20 Summit, will reportedly centre on four major topics: the future of work, climate change and disaster risk reduction, peacebuilding and reconciliation, and youth in democracy. The Y20 Summit will give young people a forum where they may express their opinions on the summit's subjects.
