"If the election had been "fair," he and his party would have won": Bernard Marak

BJP vice president Bernard N. Marak has now cited "money power" as the reason for his loss after suffering a setback in the recent Assembly elections against Chief Minister and NPP supremo Conrad K. Sangma.

On Sunday, Marak asserted that if the election had been "fair," he and his party would have won.
We can't take on the police, the government, and the financial power all at once. The CM allegedly used his influence over the police, the government, and the economy, he added.

Bernard was defeated by Conrad by 5,016 votes to keep his South Tura seat.
According to Bernard, who added that government apparatuses also worked against him, his party, and the people who voted for him, "We were not fighting the election against a political party but against money and muscle power." Bernard also added that the people who voted for him were opposed to corruption.
