In a phone discussion with his Russian colleague, Rajnath Singh issues a warning against nuclear weapons

On Wednesday, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Shoigu was informed by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh that no party in the conflict in Ukraine should make use of nuclear weapons. Singh informed his Russian counterpart, "The nuclear option should not be used by any side as the threat of using nuclear or radiological weapons goes against the core precepts of mankind."

Both ministers spoke on the phone on bilateral defence cooperation and the deteriorating situation in Ukraine. Rajnath was also given an update by Russian Defense Minister Shoigu on the state of affairs in Ukraine, particularly his worries about potential provocations involving the deployment of "dirty bombs."Rajnath Singh reaffirmed India's position that discussion and diplomacy must be pursued in order to quickly resolve the dispute. A conventional bomb that has been contaminated with radioactive, biological, or chemical substances and released during an explosion is referred to as a dirty bomb.

In conversations with a number of Nato allies on Sunday, Shoigu alleged that Ukraine was preparing to use a "dirty bomb," allegations that Kyiv denounced as "dangerous" lies.

Russia has information demonstrating the "actual threat" of Ukraine employing a "dirty bomb," according to Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, who also stated that Ukraine is "getting ready for such a terrorist act of sabotage."
