Indian cricketers (both men and women) were paid by the BCCI according to their performance, which is evaluated by the points they earned in the BCCI's grading system.  Three grading systems for women's cricketers and four for men have each been released by BCCI thus far.

Qualifications for BCCI's yearly central contacts:

  • A+ category – All three formats player
  • A category – All three formats, at least 2 formats, Test cricket necessary
  • B category – Two formats
  • C category – Single format player

BCCI’s Grading system for Women’s

The match fee for domestic women's cricket players in 2022 has risen by the BCCI. Senior females (playing XI) will now receive INR 20,000 per match day as compared to INR 12,500 earlier.

Men's Cricket: Grade A+ Players 

An annual salary of INR 7 crores will be paid to the players on this list. The players named under this grade are as follows:

Grade A players 

A salary of INR 5 crore will be paid to the players on this roster yearly. The players listed in this grade are noted as follows:

A yearly salary of INR 3 crore will be paid to the players on this roster. The players listed in this grade are noted as follows:

In addition to their annual BCCI salaries, the players also earn from each Test, ODI, and T20I contest.

The match cost for an Indian player in a Test is set at Rs. 15 lakh. A participant receives Rs. 6 lakh for an ODI while receiving Rs. 3 lakh for each T20I. 50% of the match money is given to those who are left off the starting XI.

Salary of Indian Women's Cricketers

The Senior Women's Team of India's Annual Player Contracts for the months of October 2020 to September 2021 were made public by the Board of Control for Cricket in India.

Grade A players

Players named under this list will receive a salary of INR 50 Lakhs annually. Following are the list of players who are listed under this grade:

Grade B players

Grade C players

Women cricketers will earn the same match fee for all three forms as men cricketers do. According to the regulation, female cricketers will be paid the following amount for each match across all formats:

Tests – 15 Lakhs(per match)
ODIs – 6 Lakhs(per match)
T20Is – 3 Lakhs(per match)

Added benefit for Indian cricketers

Every Indian cricketer would receive a reward for their individual success in each of the three formats of matches in addition to their salary. Their match charge does not cover this reward money.

  • Rs 500,000 for scoring a hundred in a test or ODI
  • Rs 700,000 for a double hundred in the test
  • Rs 500,000 for 5 wicket haul in Test, ODI, or T20
  • Rs 700,000 for a 10 wicket haul in test matches
