India has denounced the massacre of civilians in Bucha, Ukraine, and backed a call for an impartial probe into the tragedy, marking the first time that New Delhi has openly condemned Russian soldiers' actions.

TS Tirumurti, the Indian envoy to the UN, denounced reports of civilian fatalities in Bucha as "very disturbing" during a meeting of the United Nations Security Council attended by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
