On Thursday, India overcame the Netherlands by 56 runs to win the T20 World Cup for the second time in a row. India chose to bat and after scoring 179 for 2, they held the Netherlands to 123 for 9. Rohit Sharma (53), Virat Kohli (62 not out), and Suryakumar Yadav (51 not out) all scored brilliant fifties as India put on a strong batting performance. Paul van Meekeren (1/32) and Fred Klaassen (1/33) each secured one wicket for the Netherlands.

For India, the pace trio of Bhuvneshwar Kumar (2/9), Arshdeep Singh (2/37), and spinners Axar Patel (2/18) and Ravichandran Ashwin (2/21) performed admirably. For The Netherlands, Tim Pringle (20 off 15) scored the most goals.
