The data updated at 8 am showed that the nation’s total number of COVID-19 cases increased to 4,36,52,944 and the death toll increased to 5,25,474 with 20 new fatalities.
The national COVID-19 recovery rate was reported at 98.50%, whereas the active cases make up 0.30 percent of all infections. Within a 24-hour period, 330 more cases were added to the COVID-19 active caseload.
According to the ministry, the weekly positivity rate was 4.24 percent, and the daily positivity rate was 3.23 percent.
The number of people who have recuperated from the disease surged to 4,29,96,427, while the case fatality rate was 1.20 percent. The ministry reports that the country has undergone a statewide vaccination push and received 199 crore doses of the Covid vaccine. On August 7, 2020, India’s COVID-19 total had reached 20 lakh, on August 23, it reached 30 lakh, on September 5 it reached 40 lakh, and on September 16 it reached 50 lakh.
On May 4 and June 23 of last year, the nation reached a depressing two and three crore population, respectively. On January 25 of this year, the four-crore threshold was crossed. Three deaths from Kerala and West Bengal, two from Bihar, Haryana, Maharashtra, and Rajasthan, and one from Chhattisgarh, Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, and Sikkim are among the 20 additional fatalities.
There have been 5,25,474 documented deaths throughout the nation as of this writing, including 1,47,978 in Maharashtra, 70,153 in Kerala, 40,124 in Karnataka, 38,028 in Tamil Nadu, 26,284 in Delhi, 23,547 in Uttar Pradesh, and 21,246 in West Bengal.
The ministry emphasized that comorbidities were to blame for more than 70% of deaths.
