Israel at war: Senior commander killed; Reuters journalist killed, 6 wounded in Lebanon shelling

Israeli airstrikes have killed a senior military leader of Hamas, who oversaw the Islamist organization's aerial operations in Gaza City, the military announced on Saturday.

 Fighter planes destroyed Hamas's operating center, where the organization conducted its "aerial activity," killing Murad Abu Murad during the course of the previous day, according to the military.

Meanwhile, news agency Reuters reported that on Friday, missiles launched from Israel targeted six more journalists in southern Lebanon, injuring Issam Abdallah, a video journalist for Reuters, and killing him.

According to Reuters, the journalists were working close to Alma al-Shaab, which lies near the Israel border and has seen gunfire exchanged between the Israeli military and the Lebanese militia Hezbollah during border skirmishes.  Israel was held responsible for the incident by Hezbollah MP and Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati.
