Karnataka Minister KS Eshwarappa, who received death threats, announced his resignation
Karnataka Minister Eshwarappa announced that he would resign today ( Friday evening) April 15. The reason behind the resignation is came to be known as the death of a civil contractor who accused him of corruption.
On 14 April Eshwarappa anounced that " Tomorrow I am handing over the resignation letter to CM. I thank you all for your co-operation."
A case was registered against Eshwarappa for abetment of sudden suicide over the death of a civil contractor in Udupi. The cause of death was poision according to the forensic reports. The civil contractor also left a suicide note on which he mentions that Eshwarappa is a corrupt minister and was taking 40 to 50% comission for any project and that has lead to his death.
The FIR was registered on 14 April (Thursday night) following a complaint by Prashanth Patil brother of contractor Santosh Patil
