KCR Party's Price Jibe On Union Minister's Demand In Telangana: "Want Pics Of Modi Ji?"

T Harish Rao, the health minister for Telangana, claimed today that Nirmala Sitharaman, the union finance minister, "brought the PM's level down" by requesting that Narendra Modi's portrait be displayed in ration stores.

"She made it sound as though states were receiving free rice from the federal government.
One of the five or six states that looks for our nation's finances is Telangana.
Should the image of our Chief Minister be displayed both here and in other states? "In response to Ms. Sitharaman's combative exchange with the District Collector of Kamareddy in Birkur, which has been captured on camera and gone viral, he asked.

In response to her "unruly conduct," state minister KT Rama Rao, the son of chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao (aka "KCR"), said he was "appalled."

The TRS social media chief responded to her demand by tweeting a hilarious video of some LPG cylinders with the price and Prime Minister Modi's picture pasted on in a not-so-subtle dig at rising prices.

In the widely shared video from Friday, Ms. Sitharaman is quite abrupt with Collector Jitesh Patil when he is unable to clarify right away what the shares of the federal government and the state are in rice at fair-price stores.
According to her, of the Rs35 per kilogramme cost, the Center bears Rs30, the State contributes Rs 4, and Re1 is collected from the Beneficiaries.

She also appears to be upset that Telangana stores are not displaying PM Modi's photographs.
The Union Minister says to the Collector in the video, "You will make sure it is not taken down. Our people will come and put up the PM's banner here."
