Meghalaya: Korean Ambassador Visits North Eastern Hill University, Shillong

To maintain alliance and familiarity, the Office of International Affairs, NEHU, hosted visiting Ambassador Chang Jae-bok of the Republic of Korea to seek probabilities of tie-ups and alliances in wide-ranging fields. The Republic of Korea represented by the Ambassador and other officials took part in a public interface with NEHU faculty, students and scholars.

In his speech, Mr. Jae-bok completely comprehend the history of the Indo-Korea relationship and encouraged the students of NEHU in taking it forward in numerous fields of their interest. In India, around 700 Korean companies are working and these companies have created a huge economic bond with India by every possible means.

The Ambassador spoke about the company's various issues and the extent of academic collaboration and economic partnership.

Prof PS Shukla, the Vice-Chancellor bring up the requirement for opening up wide-ranging collaborations between Korean Universities and NEHU. Shukla presented NEHU’s contributions in cutting-edge areas of Bio-Sciences, Bio-Informatics, Physical Sciences, Humanities, and Social Sciences and express the unique local and indigenous knowledge systems, and cultural and bioresources diversities as well as the instant the chemistry between North-eastern culture and Korean culture.
