In Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, and a few other NE states, the Indian Air Force (IAF) is prepared to begin an air combat drill. Due to the 32-month-long military battle in eastern Ladak, there has been an increase in tension in the eastern sector of the LAC, which has led to this specific air combat practice.

The C-130J "Super Hercules" aircraft, Chinook heavy lift, and Apache attack helicopters, among other platforms, will all be used in the large-scale exercise.

The exercise will start next month, in February 2023, according to reports. Frontline fighters, helicopters, and other aircraft will be used throughout the entire procedure. Eastern Air Command will participate in a common level exercise to test operational preparedness.

The assignment will start on February 1 and last until February 5; Shillong is location to the EAC headquarters. Almost all eastern sector assets, including Rafales and Sukhoi-30MKI fighters operating from air bases like Hasimara, Tezpur, and Chabua, will be encircled by the exercise.
