Mark Zuckerberg's Meta is declared a terrorist organization by Russia: Report

According to Reuters, Russia on Tuesday added social networking behemoth Meta to its list of terrorist and extremist organisations. Russian government websites like Facebook and Twitter were blocked in March.
According to Tass, the Prosecutor General's Office has formally requested that Meta be classified as an extremist group under Russian law and that all of its activities be prohibited there. According to Tass, the Prosecutor General requested an investigation to see whether Meta violated the rules against "inciting hatred" and "terrorist propaganda."
Last week, Facebook was blocked in Russia, which Meta COO Sheryl Sandberg blamed to Meta's refusal to stop fact-checking posts from Russian state media.
In order to temporarily permit users of Facebook and Instagram to call for the death of President Putin and violence against Russian military, Meta reportedly developed exclusions to its hate speech policies, according to Reuters.
Russians would no longer have access to Instagram and WhatsApp if Meta's services were completely banned.
