Meghalaya: Employees of Ri-Bhoi Toll Plaza protest, demanding manager's removal  over misbehavior with employees 

National Highways Authority of India employees at the Ri- Bhoi district toll plaza in Meghalaya demanded the manager be removed for allegedly misbehaving with local employees.

As reported, local employees of the toll plaza, which is located in Pahammawlein district of Ri- Bhoi, went on to protest against their manager's misbehavior.

Women employees, in particular, said that Gagiur Rahman, the M. B. Consortium company's manager, had misbehaved with local workers and made massive false charges that were beyond the tolerance of the local workforce.

On Thursday evening, more than 20 to 30 employees of the Pahammawlei toll plaza went on strike and held a dharna outside the plaza office. Later, police officials from the Ri Bhoi District arrived to assess the situation and avert any unexpected developments.

Kyrngun Sylliang, a representative of Lumjingshai Pahammawlei, and Jayan Sylliang, the plaza's local director, issued a joint statement to the media condemning the Manager's behavior and supporting the employees' demand for the Manager's immediate departure.

Speaking to the press, Kyrngun Sylliang, a representative of Lumjingshai Pahammawlein, and Jayan Sylliang, the plaza's local director, denounced the manager's behavior and expressed support for the protestors.
