Today, students from Mahendraganj's Captain Manik Das School staged a demonstration against a tobacco awareness campaign. The youngsters were guided by a teacher who said that the Education Office Ampati had given the order to hold a tabbaco awareness programme.

The community was asked by the students holding placards to cease using tabbaco, which is extremely harmful to health, in order to preserve a healthy lifestyle. Chewing tabaco results in cancer, which claims the lives of numerous people each year.

Together with a teacher, the students of Captain Manik Das school Mahendraganj went across the street to raise villagers' understanding of tabbaco.

WHO estimates that up to 50% of tobacco users die from their addiction.  More than 8 million individuals die from tobacco-related diseases every year. Around 1.2 million of those fatalities are caused by non-smokers being exposed to secondhand smoke, whereas more than 7 million are caused by direct tobacco use.
Over 80% of the 1.3 billion tobacco smokers worldwide reside in low- and middle-income nations.
