Meghalaya: Newborn Baby dumped in garbage truck

A newborn infant was reportedly retrieved from a garbage truck at Mawpat on Tuesday.  When the driver and his assistant were sifting the trash they had gathered from the locals, they came across the baby in the garbage truck.

Police were promptly notified, and the infant was transferred to NEIGRIHMS.

The Mawpat Dorbar quickly called a meeting to discuss the occurrence after learning about it.
To find out who placed the newborn in the garbage truck, Rangbah Shnong of Mawpat, JM Wahlang said, "We will conduct an investigation by calling all the families residing in the area."
