Meghalaya: NPP candidate Ampareen Lyngdoh just three votes ahead of Congress candidate from East Shillong

Ampareen Lyngdoh of the NPP is only ahead of Manuel Badwar of the Congress (INC) in the East Shillong constituency by three votes.
Following her resignation from the Congress party last year, Ampareen Lyngdoh joined the NPP.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), an old ally of the NPP that wants to win more seats in Meghalaya, is a fierce rival to the party. With forecasts of obtaining 20 to 22 members in the 60-member legislature, exit polls indicate that the NPP will likely overtake all other parties to become the largest one. Although several polls indicate a hung legislature.
