Meghalaya: Ropeway coming to Shillong soon, project at advanced stage says CM

Shillong is predicted to become a prominent tourist destination in the North East as a result of the Meghalaya government's intentions to build a ropeway project to the reach their highest of Shillong Peak.

The chief minister, Conrad K. Sangma, stated on Friday that the project is well underway and that the government has already mobilised funds, finished design work, and coordinated with landowners to begin work. When the ropeway project is completed, visitors will get a one-of-a-kind experience with breathtaking views of the city and its adjoining landscape.

As part of the initiative, the CM said that the Shillong Peak area would be revitalised, adding major stores that would encourage many small businesses to develop there. Government officials are also planning ropeways for other parts of the state once the Shillong ropeway project is complete. Shillong's ropeway project is expected to transform the city's tourism industry and establish Shillong as a North Eastern tourist destination.
