This Uttar Pradesh couple saw "suspect" actions at the Vantara Resort in Uttarkhand, but they were able to flee in the Ankita murder case

Two months ago, after witnessing "strange" actions at the now-famous Vantara Resort in Rishikesh, a young couple from Uttar Pradesh managed to "leave." Rishita and her 29-year-old husband Vivek Bhardwaj travelled 10 kilometres on foot before boarding a bus to take them back to their Meerut home. 27-year-old Rishita worked at the resort's front desk, and Vivek was a housekeeper.
The couple left the organisation within a month of joining after seeing the alleged wrongdoings. Through a social media post, they discovered the position. The couple claimed to reporters that Pulkit Arya, the primary suspect in the Ankita Bhandari case, was violent. "He would use drugs and girls to amuse guests. Within a month of joining, we made the decision to depart. However, after returning to Meerut, we began getting calls from Ankit Gupta and Saurabh Bhaskar, the other two accused. For nearly a week, they kept phoning and pleading with us to come back. They assured us of better pay and that everything will be fine "Vivek remarked.
The couple has returned to Rishikesh to give a statement to the Uttarakhand police investigating the case. Rishita stated to the media: "When we turned around, they were still engaging in illegal activity. They even resisted giving us our pay and once beat me. I went to the local police, but they were of little assistance. We attempted to reach the Haridwar police, but they were unable to offer any assistance. Police officers were advising us to contact the local patwari because the location was beyond of their purview. The patwari, however, joined in on our harassing because he was working closely with Pulkit and the others."
She added that after being made to sign an apology letter for a false theft case, she and her husband were held "hostage." She continued, "They threatened to use the letter against us if we ever considered leaving."
The couple claimed to have fled the resort at three in the morning by climbing the wall with another employee and then travelling a considerable distance before boarding a bus. The statement of the couple in the case will be recorded by a four-member SIT, according to a Tuesday night official statement from the Uttarakhand Police.
