NCP Leader Nawab Malik Received Threat Call from Rajasthan on Targetting Sameer Wankhede

On Friday, NCP leader Nawab Malik said he received a threat call from someone warning him not to target NCB zonal director Sameer Wankhede.

The threat call, according to Nawab Malik, has resulted in a complaint. According to him, the call originated in Rajasthan.

The NCP leader had attacked Sameer Wankhede over the Mumbai narcotics bust case. He had remarked recently, "The whole film industry was in the Maldives during the Covid-19 pandemic. What were the officer and his family doing in the Maldives and Dubai?"

In response to these charges, Sameer Wankhede, zonal director of NCB's Mumbai unit, told that Nawab Malik was attacking his family and that he would pursue legal action.

"The minister is expressing himself incorrectly. It's a whole fake. For a holiday, my family and I went to the Maldives. For this, I had proper approval from the appropriate authority. I didn't meet anyone, and I'm not interested in clarifying such claims. At the time he mentioned, I was in Dubai, I was in Mumbai in December. It is possible to look into this "Sameer Wankhede expressed his thoughts and perspectives.

Nawab Malik alleged early on Thursday that the Bharatiya Janata Party is running an "extortion racket" in the city. The NCP Spokesperson requested a judicial probe into all instances investigated by the anti-drug agency in the previous year, alleging that the agency is initiating "bogus" lawsuits against individuals. He also asked that NCB officer Sameer Wankhede's phone and WhatsApp conversations be investigated to ascertain if he has any ties to the saffron party.
