Police reported on Friday that a man wanted for murder who had been evading capture for 28 years had been arrested at the nearby Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport.


According to senior inspector Aviraj Kurade of the MBVV police, the suspect was apprehended by the police on Thursday. He was wanted in connection with the murder of five family members in Kashirmira in November 1994.

He claimed that three suspects killed Jagranidevi Prajapati (27), along with her four children, who were aged from three months to five years, inside their home.
One of the accused was employed in Qatar, and the police were monitoring his whereabouts after receiving tips. He arrived in Mumbai on Thursday, and with the assistance of the airport staff, was taken into custody, the official continued.
