Poll-bound Meghalaya seizes over 10 lakh non-reported cash
Over ten lakh pounds of unaccounted cash is seized in Meghalaya's poll-bound state

The police in election-bound Meghalaya have recovered unaccounted cash totaling more than 10 lakh in a village in East Jaintia Hills district, officials said on Sunday. Meghalaya will hold its forthcoming Assembly Election 2023 on February 27.
According to authorities, three different operations were conducted in Umkiang village, which is part of the Sutnga-Saipung assembly constituency, to retrieve the unaccounted cash from Assam cars.
"The Sutnga-Saipung assembly seat was raided by the district officials, who confiscated 10.72 lakh rupees in cash. According to Meghalaya Chief Electoral Officer FR Kharkongor, no one has been detained as a result of these cash seizures thus far.
