Projected rainfall in Northeastern States from 13th-15th August; IMD

There has been a sigh of relief in the Northeastern states as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has projected rainfall in Assam and Meghalaya from the 13th to the 15th of August.

"Fairly widespread/widespread rainfall with isolated heavy falls and thunderstorm/lightning very likely over Gangetic West Bengal on 14th; Jharkhand on 11th, 13th, & 14th; Odisha on 11th & 12th; Arunachal Pradesh on 13th & 14th; Assam & Meghalaya on 13th -15th; and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, & Tripura on 12th-15th August

It also stated that isolated very high rainfall was possible over Odisha on the 13th and 14th of August 2022, as well as Gangetic West Bengal on the 11th. It also predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall with extremely heavy falls occurring at isolated places over Madhya Maharashtra, South Interior Karnataka, and West Madhya Pradesh; heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places over Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Konkan & Goa, Gangetic West Bengal, East Rajasthan, Jharkhand, Coastal Karnataka, and East Madhya Pradesh and heavy rainfall at isolated places over Odisha, Chhattisgarh, North Interior Karnataka, and Gujarat State.
