Punjab police intelligence headquarters targeted by a blast, rocket attack suspected

According to police, an explosion occurred late Monday at the headquarters of Punjab Police's intelligence wing in Mohali, and a projectile was fired at the structure.
The explosion was reported on the third floor of the building, which contains the state police's intelligence wing, special task force against drugs, anti-gangster task force, and other divisions.
There were no injuries reported as a result of the explosion. According to a police officials the area was sealed off and senior officers arrived on the scene. Punjab has been placed on high alert. The bomb shattered some of the building's windows.
According to a senior intelligence official acquainted with the situation, "a rocket-like" object was shot from the side of the nearby Sohana Charitable Hospital.
The scene was also visited by police and forensic teams. After receiving two letters from a commander of Pakistan-based terror group Jaish-e-Mohammad threatening to target VIPs in the state and carry out attacks at railway stations, bridges, places of worship, and other major installations, the state's intelligence wing had asked the state's law enforcement agencies to beef up security earlier on Monday.
