"Quit smoking" plan in UK urges people to switch from cigarettes to vapes.

As part of the government's effort to aid smokers in quitting, one million people in the UK will be given the option to give up cigarettes in favor of vaping. Nearly one in five smokers in the UK will receive a beginning kit for vaping as well as behavioral support as part of the "swap to stop" program, which is being hailed by officials as the "world's first."

The decision was made as the UK government works to reduce smoking in order to achieve its goal of making all public places smoke-free by 2030. The program will contribute in creating a better way of life for everyone in the nation, according to UK Health Minister Neil O'Brien.

“Cigarettes are the only product on sale which will kill you if used correctly. We will offer a million smokers new help to quit," he said.

Local governments will be expected to participate in the initiative and develop strategies that are specifically tailored to their communities.
The UK's health minister will also issue a call for information on youth vaping, as the NHS reported that 9% of 11 to 15-year-olds smoked e-cigarettes in 2021, up from 6% in 2018.

To stop the illegal sale of vapes to children, he claimed, the UK government will invest £3 million in creating a "illicit vapes enforcement squad."
