Rajasthan cop ran through flames to save a baby from a burning house

A encouraging bit of news emerges amid the gloomy reports of communal tension and bloodshed from Rajasthan’s Karauli area. A police officer has demonstrated what compassion is all about by saving a toddler from a burning house.

When officer Netresh Sharma observed a toddler crying inside a burning house, he raced inside, took the child, and rushed out. In the process, he also assisted three trapped women in fleeing to safety.

On social media, a photo of him holding a child amid burning houses has gone viral. The Rajasthan government and police have praised the constable’s bravery. CM Ashok Gehlot spoke with him, praising him for his bravery and humanity in sacrificing his life to save others.

During Saturday’s violence and arson in Karauli, the house was set on fire. The four-year-old child, his mother, and two other ladies were trapped inside, pleading for help. The infant was in the mother’s lap. To protect him from the flames, she wrapped him in a cloth.

Sharma dashed into the home through the flames as soon as he noticed them. “Four lives were about to be taken away right in front of my eyes.” It was my job to save them at all costs, even if it meant losing my life. I didn’t have time to consider what would happen to my own life!”

Netresh says he’ll never forget the look of horror on the child’s and women’s faces. “The three women and the child were in horrible condition when I arrived at the residence. I sat the youngster in my lap and motioned for the women to follow me. I took the infant to a safe distance of around 20 metres from the flaming house and returned him to his mother.” said the hero cop.

Sukirti Madhav Mishra, an IPS officer, is said to have been the first to tweet a photo of the constable fleeing a blazing house in Karauli with a baby in his arms, as she praises the cop for his bravery. On social media, the photo instantly went viral.
