SS Rajamouli's RRR will compete in 14 categories at the 2023 Academy Awards

The historical action movie RRR, starring South Indian superstars Ram Charan and Jr. NTR, has become a worldwide phenomenon. Even though it was a huge hit and received praise from people all over the world, RRR was not selected as India's entry for the 95th Academy Awards. Fans were shocked by the revelation since they believed that the most deserving picture had been overlooked. However, there is good news for RRR lovers because there is now a chance that the movie will be nominated for an Oscar the following year. The "For Your Consideration" (FYC) campaign is being used by the producers to promote the big picture in 14 categories.Team RRR posted a note and a photo of the director, SS Rajamouli, and the lead actors, Jr. NTR and Ram Charan, on Twitter to inform the audience. "We are honoured that RRR's phenomenal success represented Indian Cinema on the global arena by setting records at the box office and bringing together moviegoers from all over the world by bridging linguistic and cultural barriers," the note said. We appreciate everyone who has supported us over the past few months and shown affection for our movie. You made it feasible for us to travel. We submitted an application to The Academy for the general category of the Oscars. We send our best wishes to the RRR family and are really grateful to them for making this possible.
The makers have submitted the film in all the major categories, including
- Best Motion Picture - D.V.V. Danayya;
- Best Director - S.S. Rajamouli
- Best Original Screenplay - Story By V. Vijayendra Prasad
- Best Actor N.T. Rama Rao Jr. and Ram Charan
- Best Supporting Actress - Alia Bhatt
- Best Supporting Actor - Ajay Devgn
- Best Visual Effects V. Srinivas Mohan (VFX Supervisor)
- Best Original Song - Naatu Naatu
- Best Original Score- MM Keeravani
In addition to these, the movie is up for nominations in categories like Best Production Design, Best Editing, Best Makeup, and Best Hairstyling.
Chhello Show is India's official Oscar 2023 entry for the uninitiated. Chhello Show won the 17-member jury's unanimous vote. Produced by Marc Duale, Siddharth Roy Kapur's Roy Kapur Films, Jugaad Motion Pictures, Monsoon Films, Siddharth Roy Kapur's Roy Kapur Films, and Chhello Show LLP, the movie will represent the nation at the Oscars in the best international feature picture category. Nalin's own memories of falling in love with cinema as a young child in rural Gujarat served as the story's inspiration.
A fictionalised account of the lives of two Telugu freedom fighters, Alluri Seetharama Raju and Komaram Bheem, directed by SS Rajamouli. Lead roles were played by Ram Charan and Jr. NTR, respectively. Over Rs 1200 crore were made by the movie worldwide.
